Stretching Towards Serenity: Yoga Day at St Monica School

International yoga day celebrated on June 21st has become a significant event globally, drawing attention to the ancient Indian practice that enhances physical, mental and
spiritual health. This year under the team “ Yoga for self and society” which priorities the physical and mental well being of the community.
The yoga day celebrated in our school auditorium at 3:00PM.The event began with a brief introduction on yoga day by the student Thusharaof class 10th and by welcoming
the guest of honour Ms Abhijna Harish Karandakkad, Globally renowned for expertise in yogasana and Gold medalist in Khelo India. The students of class 8th demonstrated Surya namaskar and class 9th ,10th Students replicated the same. The student of class 8 and 9 performed yoga dance. All the students performed with great enthusiasm.
The Manager Fr Melwyn D’Souza addressed the students on the importance of yoga in practice in our life. Programme ended with a vote of thanks by Nuha from class 9th.
