A Day of Joy: St. Monica English Medium School’s Grand Annual Celebration! 🎊

St Monica English Medium School, CBSE Kumbla, celebrated its Annual Day on 29th November with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The school grounds buzzed with festive energy as students and spectators eagerly awaited the event’s commencement.

The school’s band team escorted the chief guest, Manjeshwara constituency MLA, Mr A.K.M. Ashraf, along with the guest of honour, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, Parish Priest of St Anthony Church, Allipaade, the school manager, Rev. Fr. Melwyn D’Souza, and the school principal, Sr. Ancy Mathew, to the stage.

The event began with a prayer song invoking God’s blessings, followed by a vibrant welcome dance performed by the students. Mrs Rashitha, the Master of Ceremonies, invited the dignitaries to the stage. The vice-principal, Rev. Fr. Suraj Lobo, delivered the formal welcome address. Sr. Ancy Mathew presented the annual report, highlighting the school’s achievements and developments over the past academic year.

Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza was honoured for his dedicated service to society and the community. In his address, he emphasised the significance of a nurturing school environment for the holistic development of students.

The chief guest, Mr A.K.M. Ashraf, was respectfully felicitated by the school management. He expressed his best wishes for the school’s continued success and growth.

A key highlight of the event was the launch of the school’s official website, inaugurated by the dignitaries on stage. Rev. Fr. Melwyn D’Souza delivered an inspiring presidential address.

Outstanding academic performers in the CBSE Board Exams, including Tanvi, Vrishti Rai, and Abushaz, were recognised with trophies, certificates, and cash prizes. The Parish Pastoral Council Vice President, Mr Raju Stephen D’Souza, Secretary Mrs Lydia D’Souza, Panchayat member Mr Yusuf Uluwar, and school head boy Shashwath were also present on stage during the felicitation ceremony. The stage programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Deekshitha D’Souza.

The cultural segment of the event saw students showcasing their talents through captivating dances and skits. The performances addressed meaningful themes such as environmental conservation, family values, inclusive education, cultural diversity, and patriotism, leaving the audience enthralled.

The celebration concluded with the school anthem, marking the end of a successful and memorable event that left a lasting impression on all attendees.
