Green and Proud: St Monica School’s Eco-Friendly Initiatives on Environmental Day

As part of Environmental Day, St Monica English Medium School (CBSE), Kumbla, the event aimed to: – Generate awareness about environmental issues – Motivate students to adopt eco-friendly behavior – Develop responsibility towards environment conservation
Activities included:
1.Tree Plantation Drive: Students planted trees in the school premises and at their homes,
promoting greenery and sustainability.

2. Mother-Child Sapling Plantation: Students and mothers jointly planted saplings,
fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility.

3. School Premises Cleaning: A cleanliness drive ensured a tidy school environment,
promoting responsibility among students.

4. Gardening Awareness: An awareness drive highlighted the importance of gardening
and environment maintenance through a school garden visit.

5. Slogan Telling Activity: Students participated in a slogan-telling activity, encouraging
creative thinking and environmental awareness.


The event successfully achieved its objectives, raising awareness about environmental
issues, promoting eco-friendly habits, and instilling a sense of responsibility towards
environment conservation among students. The joint participation of mothers and
students in planting saplings marked a significant moment in fostering a sense of
community and shared responsibility towards environmental conservation. By working
together, the students, mothers, and school community contributed to the beautification
of the school premises and sowed the seeds of a greener future, promoting a culture of
sustainability and eco-friendly practices that will benefit generations to come.
